A generational dialogue about anger, masculinity, and the courage to change one's life

Jojo, 17, is angry at the world—and the world is angry at him. After a burglary, a juvenile court sentences him to community service at a retirement home. There he meets Leo, who hasn't spoken a word in years. But the longer Jojo is forced to spend time with Leo, the more the silent man opens up and tells him about his eventful past. Because once upon a time, the grim old man was a celebrated professional boxer who fell hard – in the ring and in life.

A friendship develops between the two. Leo challenges Jojo to break old habits, let go of excuses and overcome his fears. And Jojo finds in Leo an ally who understands him without many words. Together they forge a plan that gives both of them the chance to take control of their lives again.

In 1996—thirty years after its premiere at the GRIPS Theater—this timeless classic returns, taking a fresh look at the dialogue between generations and questions of masculinity.
