Jakob Spiegler

Jakob Spiegler (he/him), who grew up in Brandenburg an der Havel, studied acting at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart (2018–2023) and was a permanent ensemble member at the Theater Altenburg Gera during the 2024–2025 season.

Since 2020, he has been a scholarship recipient of the German National Academic Foundation and has been pursuing a master’s degree in Applied Theater Studies at JLU Giessen since 2025. 

During the 2025/26 season, he served as assistant director for the production “Das Herz eines Boxers” (dir.: Jessica Weisskirchen) at the GRIPS Theater. 

Starting in October 2026, he will be a visiting student in the Playwriting program at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK). 

During the 2027/28 season, his reworking of Georg Büchner’s “Lenz” will premiere at the Theater Altenburg Gera. 

In Leipzig, he is developing independent theater with the collective “Sämtliche Gewerke.”
