Venue GRIPS Theater Hansaplatz
The GRIPS Theater is located in a listed building complex in the Hansa district, which was built in the course of INTERBAU 1957. The theatre is currently not yet fully accessible in all areas.
Hansaplatz: The GRIPS Theater is located directly at the Hansaplatz underground station (U9), which is equipped with a lift. A car park with access from Altonaer Straße is available behind next to the building. One of the parking spaces is marked as a barrier-free parking space.
People * with reduced mobility
The main entrance and the access to the theatre hall are at ground level. There are 2 wheelchair spaces available in the theatre. Due to the limited number, we kindly ask for prior registration when booking tickets.
There is a low barrier WC room directly accessible from the foyer. The WC itself can only be accessed on the left-hand side.
Plan of the building
For better orientation, you can download a map of how to get here as well as a floor plan of the hall and entrance area with a large contrast:
So far, the theatre is not equipped with an induction amplification system. However, installation is planned for the 21/22 season.
Venue GRIPS Theater Podewil
Our second venue is located in the Podewilschen Palais in Mitte. The box office is on the ground floor. The theatre hall is on the first floor. Usually, we have a wheelchair place. Please register when booking your tickets.
The Podewil is conditionally barrier-free. Wheelchair users have access via a ramp to the left of the entrance door at the front of the building (Klosterstraße) or via a ramp in the courtyard (entrance Waisenstraße). All floors can then be reached by lift. Should you require assistance, please contact the box office on 030 - 24 74 98 80 and we will be happy to assist you and escort you to your seat in the theatre auditorium. You will find a barrier-free WC on the ground floor.
Our website is largely available in easy language. To do this, go to the menu and select the LS option at the top.
Basically, the website is designed with a high contrast. In the lower section of the website, you can also adjust the contrast and font size independently of your browser.
The website has been designed with machine readability in mind. However, we have decided to continue using the gender asterisk for the time being in order not to jeopardise the implementation of gender-equitable language by changing the spelling again.
