Gripping play about mental health
The photo next to Saffa’s bed shows their whole family: Saffa herself, her sister Nim, mum and the dog. What a beautiful family. But now the photo is broken. Fell down when mum banged the door really hard. And everything else is broken as well. Because either mum wants to fly to Mallorca even though they have to attend school and buy a pet mouse she can’t take care of. Or she sits on the roof, sings and refuses to come down. Like right now. Nim has had enough. She wants to go to the youth welfare office and hopes for a foster father with a big house where the bread is never moldy. Saffa, on the contrary, does everything she can to hide the fact that in their house she is the one who takes care of food, pet mouse and actually everything else. She wants to keep her family together at all costs.
In this intimate play we join the two sisters as they fight for each other and their mother in their different ways.
