They can all be seen in the photo next to Saffa's bed: Saffa herself, her sister Nim, mom and the dog. What a beautiful family. But now the picture is broken. It fell down when Mama banged the door too hard. And everything else is broken too. Because either mom wants to fly to Mallorca, even though it's not a vacation, and buy a gerbil that she can't look after. Or she does nothing but cry and eat brie. Right now she's sitting on the roof, singing and refusing to come down. Nim has had enough. She wants to go to the youth welfare office and hopes to get a foster father like in the musical. Saffa, on the other hand, does everything she can to hide the fact that she is the one at home who looks after the food, even though she is only 11 years old. She wants to keep her family together at all costs. In this gripping intimate drama, we follow the two sisters as they fight for each other and their mother in their different ways.
