Ekat Cordes is a freelance director, author, musician and sound designer. He has worked at the Oldenburg State Theater with Susanne Kennedy, Anna Bergmann and Marc Becker, among others. After his play “Ewig gärt” was invited to the Stückemarkt of the Berlin Theatertreffen, he staged the live comic “A Greekship” at the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin at the Reality kills festival. In 2011, he was named up-and-coming director of the year in the trade journal Theater heute for “Der Penner ist schon wieder woanders” at the Maxim Gorki Theater. “Aproposkalypse” premiered at Theater Osnabrück and his farce “Gertrud goes Korea” was nominated for the Leonhard Frank Prize of the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg and for the Autorentheatertage Stück auf! at Schauspiel Essen. Ekat Cordes has also worked at Schauspiel Essen and Junges Theater Heidelberg, among others.
