Spoken Word & Storytelling
20 February 2026, 8 p.m., Location: Podewil (venue of the GRIPS Theatre)
This evening is a grand reunion with the voices that have shaped spoken word and poetry slam in the German-speaking world – and at the same time a stage for those who will write the next chapters. When Bas Böttcher, Lucia Lucia, Noah Klaus and Timo Brunke take the stage, experience meets curiosity, craftsmanship meets instinct, and stage routine meets the fresh courage of newcomers from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and South Tyrol.
Bas Böttcher brings his unmistakable blend of precision, sense of rhythm and mental agility. Lucia Lucia pushes poetic images into the spotlight that feel both light and profound. Noah Klaus combines wit, attitude and fine timing, while
Timo Brunke has been showing for years how far storytelling can be stretched when you are bold enough to move language.
Added to this are the young talents of the new generation, who take to the stage with their own perspectives and unexpected narrative forms. They expand the ensemble of this evening with fresh sounds, new realities and stories that are just beginning to find an audience.
The result is a spoken word mosaic that is both grounded and forward-looking: sometimes funny, sometimes lyrical, sometimes narrative, sometimes completely genre-defying – but always with heart, attitude and stage presence. An evening where classics and newcomers don't
stand side by side, but resonate with each other, inspiring, challenging and fuelling each other.
If you want to experience how stories sound when tradition and innovation breathe together, don't miss this evening.
