Mina Salehpour

Born 1985 in Tehran/Iran.

From 2004 to 2007, Salehpour worked with various theatre groups as a director, actress and video artist. Among other things, she dramatised the video game "Sons of Liberty" by Hideo Kojima.

From 2007 to 2009 she was assistant director at Schauspiel Frankfurt, where she directed the world premiere of "Heute bin ich blond" based on the novel by Sophie van der Stap, which was invited to the Black Box Festival 2010 in Bulgaria.

As assistant director at Schauspiel Hannover, Salehpour brought "INVASION!" by Jonas Hassen Khemiri to the stage in 2010 (invited to the Kaltstart Festival Hamburg).

Since the 2011/12 season, Salehpour has been working as a freelance director and regularly collaborates with the set designers Maria Anderski and Jorge Enrique Caro. At Schauspiel Hannover, she directed the German premiere of "Fatima" by Atiha Sen Gupta in 2011 (this production won the JugendStückePreis at the Heidelberger Stückemarkt 2012) and the German premiere of David Greig's "Monster" the following year.

At the GRIPS Theater she directed the world premiere of David Gieselmann's "Über Jungs" (invited to the 2013 Heidelberg Stückemarkt), at the Staatstheater Braunschweig the German premiere of "Montecore", at the Staatstheater Karlsruhe "Das Kamel ohne Höcker" (both evenings based on novels by Jonas Hassen Khemiri).

The Society of Friends of the Hanover Schauspielhaus honoured Mina Salehpour with the Newcomer Award for Best Director for the production "Fatima". For "Über Jungs" she was nominated as best young artist in the trade journal "Theater Heute" in 2012. In the 2013|2014 season Salehpour is directing the world premiere of "Der Gast ist Gott" (by Vibhawari Deshpande, Srirang Godbole and Lutz Hübner) at GRIPS.
